Calling all community groups and voluntary organisations in County Monaghan
Join us for an interactive 3-hour workshop on Wednesday 6th May from 10am to 1pm in the Four Seasons Hotel, Monaghan, facilitated by Sinead Doody from Doody Consulting who has a wealth of experience in the Community Sector. This workshop is designed to help you tackle the everyday challenges facing your community group or organisation. Bring along your issues and work through them with an experienced facilitator, while sharing ideas, tips, and experiences with others in the sector. This workshop is shaped by you—topics will be decided on the day, but may include:
- Volunteer recruitment & retention – practical ways to attract new volunteers, keep people motivated and avoid burnout
- Strong leadership – what makes an effective chairperson or community leader
- Committee responsibilities – tips for making your committee work well and share responsibility
- People power – working well together and managing difficult behaviour
- The funding environment – what’s out there and meeting funding deadlines
- Governance – what does it mean and where do we start!
- Writing funding applications – putting together basic messages/wording for grant applications
- Showing your impact – how to show funders and stakeholders the difference your group/organisation is making
- Time constraints – dealing with limited time and resources in your group/organisation
- Idea sharing – hearing what’s working (and not working) for others and picking up useful, real-world tips
When registering please let us know one issue you would like to cover on the day, it can be any of the above or something else but this will allow us sufficient notice for all topics to be discussed
This event will include a presentation from Monaghan Volunteer Centre on finding and supporting volunteers and also how Monaghan PPN can support your group.
